Our Materials

We are committed to using the world’s most sustainable materials.

The Issue

Historically and still today, most of our industry uses materials to make fabrics from out-of-date sources. These include such materials as conventionally grown cotton which is filled with pesticides, herbicides, and all kinds of synthetic materials made from oil and other harmful chemicals. We do things differently and only use certified materials such as Organic & BCI Cotton, Recycled Polyester, Recycled Nylon, and yarns made by the Lenzing company.

T4T Materials

Recycled Polyester diverts plastic bottles from our landfills and turns them into your favorite pieces in your closet.

How Does It Work?

The collected PET bottles are sterilized, dried, and crushed into small chips. The chips are heated and passed through a spinneret to form strings of yarn. The yarn is wound up in spools. The fiber is passed through a crimping machine to create a fluffy wooly texture. This fluffy wooly material is then spun into yarn which is then knitted & blended into finished fabric.

How Does It Help?

Recycled Polyester, often called rPET, is made from recycled plastic bottles. By giving this waste a second life, we are helping to give an end-use to recycled plastics around the world & hopefully reduce what ends up in landfills & water supplies. We understand that this end-use is a single end-use, but currently, this is the best alternative that we have to conventionally made synthetics. By creating an industry for recycled goods, it helps to support recycling programs globally.

GOTS certified organic cotton is made sustainably and responsibly so you can feel good wearing it.

How Does It Work?

Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment. The seeds are produced naturally, are untreated, and are GMO-free. The most important benefit to organic cotton is that no pesticides or toxic chemicals are used for weed control and harvesting. Conventionally, grown cotton is one of the most pesticide & herbicide intensive crops on the planet which damages soil, local water supplies & is harmful to workers & local communities where cotton is grown.

How Does It Help?

The minimal use of harsh chemicals helps keep our soil and water safe for people and wildlife. Farmers work without exposure to harsh chemicals that allow them to work safely.

Biodegradable, LENZING fibers come from nature and return to nature. This is an innovative sustainable cycle that avoids the use of plastics.

How Does It Work?

TENCEL™ Modal fibers are extracted from naturally grown beech wood by an environmentally responsible integrated pulp-to-fiber process, which is self-sufficient in energy and recovers co-products from parts of the wood. This flexible fiber is renowned for its exceptional softness.

How Does It Help?

Composed of natural material, all TENCEL™ standard Modal fibers are biodegradable and compostable under industrial, home, soil, and marine conditions. Thus they can fully revert to nature.
